Our Favorite Multi-Use Product
Our Daily Face Polish has been a most loved products since it debuted but did you know that it can be used 3 different ways? Surprising we know, but it can. This product is unique as it is honey-based and enzymatic to gently buff away excess dead skin cells without causing disruption to the acid mantle of skin. We love that it is formulated with organic ceramides, humectants and AHAs to help draw moisture into skin and keep it locked in place while brightening the complexion.
While the application will change with each of the three intended use for the product, the gooey texture and earthy aroma will remain the same. We hope that you enjoy learning more about this product and hope you can find a place for it in your routine.
Cleanser
This most-loved product was originally formulated to take the place of a lathering cleanser in the morning. You might feel the need to freshen up skin when you wake to remove excess sebum and dead skin cells but do not necessarily need a bubbling cleanser to remove makeup. That is where our Daily Face Polish enters your routine.
To use as a cleanser we recommend splashing your face, neck and chest with warm water before applying to help soften skin. It is important to blend the product between the palms to gently soften then apply to face, neck and chest in a circular motion. We recommend doing this for a few minutes or until it feel like it has fully dissolved into skin. From there, rinse and hydrate with your favorite serum, moisturizer or cream.
We know that getting this product from the jar to the skin can look a little different for everyone. This is what we recommend:
- Scoop half of a demitasse spoonful of product from the jar with a clean spoon.
- Place your thumb just above the scooped polish on the base of the handle with the rest of your fingers below the spoon.
- Scrape the product off into your palm and blend together to soften.
Remember this product is best as your morning cleanser only if you have a balanced routine for the evening that is consistent. This routine includes the use of a nightly gentle cleanser that removes makeup, sunscreen and skin debris followed by a toner that is pH balanced for skin. Lastly this routine includes the application of a hydrator or the layering of hydrators as needed. This ritual will ensure that you are closing out your day with fresh skin that is hydrated and ready to repair itself while you sleep.
Pre or Post Mask
Due to the enzymatic properties in this formulation, this product can also be used before or after your weekly mask application to help soften excess congestion. If you notice that your skin might have a rubbery texture or that your pores look a little larger than you prefer, this application can be helpful for skin. The natural enzymes in organic honey are what work to soften congestion and remove excess dead skin cells as it is naturally rich in AHAs. This powerhouse ingredient also helps with tone and texture imbalances which makes this pH balanced product perfect to use just before or after your weekly exfoliant.
To use as a pre or post mask, we recommend scooping a spoonful of product and applying to clean, dry skin in an even manner. I like to blend the product between my palms to warm it up before smearing on skin using both hands. From there, we recommend to let the product sit topically for 3-5 minutes to allow the enzymes to soften congestion before rinsing.
Make sure to follow this application with your favorite facial hydrators or with your weekly exfoliant followed by your hydrators depending on when you apply it. Please know that this product can be used in conjunction with any of our facial exfoliants as it is formulated to be pH balanced for optimal skin health and will not cause dehydration.
Lymphatic Stimulator
Another great way to use this product is to help stimulate your lymphatic system and to encourage a natural detox for skin. Our lymphatic system is just one part of our overall immune health and because this system does not have a pump, it is important to help with any sluggish tendencies it may have. This can be done through many different techniques including daily exercise or rebounding and weekly dry brushing or gua sha work. It can also be accomplished through honey tapping. We like this technique as it helps to stimulate the lymphatic system and can be added to your routine on its own or in conjunction with a pre or post mask before your weekly exfoliant.
To use as a lymphatic stimulator, apply our Daily Face Polish to clean, dry skin in an even manner. From there use your fingers to gently tap the surface of the honey on skin then pull it away. You will feel a mild warming sensation and a slight tug to skin during this process. I like to work both sides at the same time, starting at the chest, and working my way up to the forehead then bring it all back down ending back at the chest to help ensure proper lymphatic drainage.
From there, rinse and follow with your favorite serum or cream for topical ceramides and antioxidants overall skin health or with your weekly exfoliant followed by your hydrators if you decide to add this technique on to your pre or post mask application.
