How to Layer Facial Hydrators

When it comes to our fully concentrated facial products we always recommend listening to your skin and layering from lightest to heaviest product with your SPF as the last product on skin.

While everyone has a different routine, a daily cleanser and hydrator are a must. Depending on your preference for viscosity we offer 4 nutrient-dense options, our Evening Rose Facial Serum, Lavender & Primrose Moisturizer, Carrot & Rose Eye Repair and our Lavender Cold Cream.

Each of these hydrators provide their own level of skin nutrients, barrier protection and dermal hydration working well with each other as well as with other brands. When it comes to how and when to use each of these hydrators, we layer when the weather is cooler, drier, or if we are traveling and stick with the everyday base-layers for the spring and summer humidity.

Evening Rose Facial Serum

This product is a twice daily concentrated facial moisturizer. Formulated with 100% organic oils to promote collagen production, firm skin and improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation and works to prevent moisture loss and signs of premature aging. The naturally found skin nutrients assists with improving moisture retention and skin redness while the formulation has a weightless feel on skin.

We call this our everyday base-layer hydrator as it is the first product on skin after cleansing both in the morning and in the evening. It provides lightweight hydration with a matte finish, leaving a subtle glow on skin, perfectly primed for the next layer. Each bottle will last 9 months of use when applied twice daily so remember, less is more.

Lavender & Primrose Moisturizer

For most clients, this product is a one-step moisturizer for face and body. It is formulated to promote collagen production, improve skin firmness, and slow the signs of premature aging while working to hydrate and repair skin to prevent moisture loss. It has a creamy lightweight texture with a crisp, lavender scent and can be layered over our serum or used alone on skin after cleansing. If you prefer a lightweight cream for your facial hydrator, this product will be your best friend. It leaves skin protected and hydrated leaving a matte finish but never feeling greasy.

Carrot & Rose Eye Repair

Did you know that this product is a twice daily moisturizing eye balm? It contains plant-based retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation and is formulated with organic oils to improve the appearance of collagen-depleted puffy skin. We recommend using both in the morning and evening and has a deep fresh scent of carrot and organic cocoa butter. We also call this our everyday base-layer as it has a richer organic beeswax barrier that works to prevent moisture loss and signs of premature aging without feeling tacky or heavy on skin and layer perfectly over our serum after cleansing.

To use, we recommend scraping backwards with your thumbnail to remove a small amount from the glass jar. From there, gently warm between your ring fingers to soften and dab on skin around eyes, lips and brow.

Lavender Cold Cream

If we haven’t said it enough, we love this nourishing facial moisturizer as it is formulated with nutrient dense organic oils and skin-loving probiotics to improve the appearance of collagen-depleted skin. Just like our entire collection of products, each ingredient is essential and promotes overall balanced skin health. It has a rich texture to assist with improving moisture retention and skin redness and works to prevent moisture loss and signs of premature aging due to the organic beeswax barrier. While this ingredient can feel heavy in some formulations it does not with this rich cream, skin is left protected and nourished without feeling greasy or sticky, all with the calm scent of lavender.

When it comes to layering, this product would go on top of your serum and eye repair and under your SPF. We recommend a pea-sized amount to be applied as dots to your face, neck and chest then blending for an even application. I tend to open a new jar in August or September giving me plenty of product for fall and winter and less for spring and summer, for a once-a-year purchase. Of course, you can always use more if skin needs it but for me, this ritual works perfectly right now.
