Winter Self-Care Rituals

Jan 11, 2019

Winter evenings are designed for lounging at home with family as well as making time for yourself after work.

One of my favorite weekly routines is a foot soak and scrub followed by an intense hydrator and cotton socks. Each week I pencil in self care time and spend 15 minutes giving back to my body for all that it does.

I start this ritual by soaking my feet in a warm basin of Herbal Soaking Salts and Revive Bath Oil for 10 minutes. The organic arnica montana pairs well with organic chamomile & calendula to soothe sore muscles, skin irritations and inflammation.

After soaking, I will then exfoliate each foot and calf with my favorite sugar scrub. I like to dispense just a few spoonfuls into a dish and apply to wet skin working the exfoliant in for a few minutes until the mixture turns into a softer consistency. Because sugar breaks down into glycolic acid, if you leave this mixture on feet for a minute or two, it will provide a plant-based chemical peel to gently remove excess dead skin cells, leaving your skin super soft.

I then re-soak my feet in the herbaceous soaking salts for another minute making sure to rinse the exfoliant from my lower legs and feet.

After rinsing, I dry each leg and foot thoroughly followed by a layer of our intensely hydrating Bergamot & Lavender Body Balm and top it off with cotton socks for the most loved and refreshed feeling.

I hope that you adore my weekly ritual, wishing you a happy January!
