As we gently kick off 2024, we thought it would be an ideal time to share with you a few ways you can positively impact the small businesses you love without spending money.
Spread the Word
Tell your friends, family, and colleagues about small brands or products that you love and use in your daily life. When it comes to cultivating and operating a small brand, word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals are our most powerful ally for longterm success. This type of independent advocation for smaller brands allows organic growth to take place while connecting with a new base of clients who align with the brand mission and ethics. Over the years we have met many clients who found our brand because it was recommended to them. In 2023 we took this notion a step further and cultivated our Referral Program where you can share your unique shopping link with those you love and earn rewards when they make their first purchase. All you have to do is login using the email associated with your Rewards Account under the section titled "Give $5, Get $5" then click "Send Mail" to create an email with your unique referral code already pre-entered ready for the recipient. This reward earned is our way to say thank you for sharing our brand with others.

If you have supported a small business and have enjoyed your purchase take the time to leave a review as this easy step creates long-lasting digital brand support. I can speak from experience that this type of connection with our yet-to-be fans impacts our overall brand reputation and credibility. We have found that by leaving your personal feedback helps our potential audience to have a sense of what to expect when determining if a product or service would be a good addition to their routine. That being said, if you have a negative experience I encourage you to reach out directly to the brand to give them an opportunity to course correct or provide a solution to circumstances beyond their control like the high costs of shipping or a delay in transit.
Engage on Social
If you find yourself on social media, take a moment to find your favorite brands and connect. Your engagement helps smaller brands reach a wider audience and build a community around others who align with the brand's mission, ethics and standards. Over the many years we relied upon our social media platforms as an easily accessible place to share skincare education, product tips and tricks and a peek inside our lab where our product line is formulated and manufactured. While we know that social media can be a black hole that is full of too many ads and brand pushing you to buy things, we strive to keep our profile always positive and fully educational. By following, liking and sharing posts with those you know, small brands are able to connect with others that also just might love what they do.
Provide Feedback
While I cannot speak for all small brands out there, providing your thoughtful feedback is an invaluable way to help shape the future of a company you know and love. For us, we openly look for your input and suggestions and love to hear from our clients. We categorize each request we receive into a digital database and use your feedback when making changes to our product line with each new year's brand goals.
