Organic Kelp for Hydration
With cultivating a balanced routine, hydration can be a key component to ensuring skin is happy and healthy. Diving into how skin functions, we can remember that inflamed skin can be a symptom of a larger issue and an imbalance to the skin barrier can lead to deep dehydration and further inflammation within skin.
To keep the skin barrier healthy and supported, it's important to consume adequate water. It is equally important to use products that are pH balanced and provide hydration for skin with the use lipids and ceramides. Look for products that are formulated with ingredients including organic jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil and olive oil to provide skin with external hydration.
When it comes to exfoliation, there are many plant-based ingredients that are known to provide balanced hydration and nutrients for skin, including one of our most favorites, organic kelp.
We use this powerhouse ingredient as it is packed with antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, which can help to protect the skin from free radical damage and slow the aging process. This gentle ingredient is suitable for even the most sensitive skin, and provides a full spectrum of additional vitamins, enzymes, proteins and lipids to benefit skin and is sourced from the USA.
Kelp also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help soothe irritated skin and reduce redness as well as detoxifying properties that can help draw out impurities and toxins from the skin. It contains minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium to help maintain the skin's moisture balance, leaving it feeling soft and supple. You can find this dynamic ingredient in only one of our product formulations, our Bright Facial Mask.
Together with organic pomegranate and licorice root, this facial exfoliant can be used as a monthly vitamin rich treat for skin or weekly when as part of a custom facial mask. It is formulated to brighten and balance the complexion while providing skin nutrients to help repair broken capillaries and reduce hyperpigmentation. If you are experiencing a bit of topical inflammation or UV damage from too much fun in the sun this summer, this exfoliant would be an excellent addition to your routine.
